1. Using our portfolio

Samericka grants the permission to use our portfolio images to demonstrate for new and existing clients examples of the work that can be obtained thru your brand. The Works cannot be copied, modified or duplicated and remain copyright of Samericka.

Since 1995, we have been offering services on the Internet. First as an ISP (Internet Service Provider), then as a private hosting company, and since 2005 as public hosting company. We have experience, knowledge and great support and services.

There are basically 3 types of hosting that MegabyteIsland offers it's clientèle (you can offer the same or tailored):

1. Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is the principal of allocating (sharing) the resources of one server to multiple customers. It is the most common type of hosting for static sites, single domain clients, and low to medium bandwidth needs. These accounts include e-mail (POP, IMAP, Webmail with calendar, address book and other tools), databases (mySQL), PHP, web traffic stats (Webalizer or AWStats), SSL, FTP, sub domains, web users, Crontab and more. Tools to manage these accounts include the Plesk/CPanel/LXAdmin control panels with tons of goodies!

MegabyteIsland manages these servers and maintains the Hardware, Operating Systems (OS), kernel updates and patches, licenses etc

2. VPS (Virtual Private Servers)

The textbook definition goes like this: A virtual private server (VPS, also referred to as Virtual Dedicated Server or VDS) is a method of partitioning a physical server computer into multiple servers such that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated operating system. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server can be independently rebooted. (from Wikipedia)

The are huge advantages to VPS. The ability to run your own applications, root access, portability and flexibility, and flexibility; a VPS can be upgraded to a larger system with zero to very little downtime (depending on the setup). The security benefits are important. No longer sharing the same operating system with others clients (as in Shared Hosting), running it's own operating system in it's own environment; makes running a VPS similar to having a dedicated server but with easy growth and cost benefits. VPSs can be used to run almost any type of server based software, in a safe and secured environment, controlled entirely by the client.

3. Dedicated Servers

We offer dedicated servers at very competitive prices. We have from budget servers to high end clusters. Because of our geographically diverse network topology we implemented years ago in different NOCs (Network Operating Centers), MegabyteIsland is in a position to offer servers in multiple locations, including (North America): Montreal, Miami, Toronto, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas and soon New York. We also offer the possibility to obtain servers in the UK, Mexico, Israel (special requests).

Pricing and location of NOC varies depending on the hardware available, bandwidth requirements, port requirements (10Mbps or 100Mpbs), protection (software or hardware firewalls).

4. Re-branding Hosting (WhiteLabel)

You can operate your own hosting company by using the re-branding tools we offer.

Profit structure

Our pricing structure varies depending on the product. To start, we offer a default 10% profit on: Hosting, Design, programming, system administration (Linux and other type of servers).

** Volume discounts: 12% and up to 18% profit on Design services (by Samericka).

** VOIP pricing is on a case per case basis and may require setup fees.
